Persian Kerman Wool Carpet

Persian Kerman Wool Carpet

This is a large and beautifully hand-knotted wool rug from Kerman, Iran, depicting a lush paradise garden motif.
On the light blue background of the carpet, there is a depiction of an eternally blooming garden with perfectly symmetrical twisting vines, flowers of different colors, and small birds peeking out between the branches. In the corners at the bottom, two large peacocks are depicted like guardians.

The carpet's design is different in that it doesn't have a central medallion. The whole composition is made in a way that draws the eye upward. It's also called the 'ladder to heaven,' which metaphorically guides a person's spiritual journey toward enlightenment.

Condition: The carpet is in good condition. There is uneven wear in the pile in some areas. We have always dry and wet cleaned it.
