This unique hand-knotted tribal rug originates from the Afshar region of southern Iran. It is a pleasantly compact, almost square wool rug, where the pinkish-red background beautifully highlights shades of turquoise, dark blue, yellow, beige, and brown.
Natural wear from use is visible on the rug's surface, lending the colors a pleasing, aged appearance. However, the most fascinating aspect of this rug is its array of motifs. At the center, two massive vase compositions are displayed, surrounded by various "tree of life" and floral motifs. Particularly eye-catching are the large abstract figures positioned in the corners and the center of the rug. The rug's overall design is highly distinctive; a search for similar examples suggests that few tribal rugs featuring this specific use of motifs have been produced.
Seisukord: Vaip on rahuldavas seisukorras, esineb tugevat kulumist. Meie poolt on narmad uuesti taastatud ja kinni sõlmitud. Vaiba servad on mõlemalt pool uuesti käsitsi ääristatud ning muidugi läbis vaip ka põhjaliku kuiv- ja märgpuhastuse.
