PERSIAN ISFAHAN WOOL RUG
Isfahan rugs are among the most elegant examples of Persian rug-making. They are known for their high knot density and refined, smooth surface. At first glance, the design of this rug appears calmly symmetrical, but on closer inspection it reveals a remarkably rich composition. The light central field is filled with winding stems, small blossoms, leaves and rosettes, creating the impression of a lush floral garden.
A medallion can also be seen at the centre of the composition, although in this rug it is not the first element to draw the eye. Instead, it blends harmoniously into the surrounding ornamentation.
The light central field is framed by a striking wide dark blue border, densely decorated with dimensional-looking flowers and leaves. Once again, the rug showcases beautiful craftsmanship and a skilfully balanced colour palette.
Condition: The rug is in good condition. On close inspection, there are some short lines of wear visible in the pile. Unfortunately, repeated wet cleaning did not completely remove all stains. Otherwise, the rug still has a thick pile and remains soft underfoot.
